This is a series of delicate drawings of delicate animals. The images are hand-etched into a panel covered in black wax. Those lines are then filled with white oil paint, and the excess is wiped away to expose the relief drawing. They are framed in found antique frames (the more weathered the better), to balance the metaphoric and emotional weight of the animals depicted, be they domesticated livestock or species that are endangered. I like to show these animals in solitude and solemnity.
