| Start with Art at the Community Campus Portsmouth, New Hampshire 2000 As the artistic director of this most exciting project I would say that the final artwork produced by the over 400 participants was only in part the reward as the process was truly the greatest success. Each person from age 2 to adult gave their time and talent to make something beautiful and fun for the spaces, which they occupy. They also donated some work to the Portsmouth Children's Library Room, so the general public could enjoy it as well. All of the participants were eager to try something new, experiment with materials and create something with their peers, teachers, parents and others working and attending agencies within the Community Campus. Many relatives, friends and spouses attended the studio sessions, which added an additional sense of greater community throughout the work. I am pleased to be part of this wonderful year long experience and hope that the public will embrace the work and ideas put forth in this experience by viewing it at the Campus and the Library. |
