We began in 1993 in Rochester, NH teaching fine art to children as academyartworks. Since that time we have expanded our instruction to all fine arts media and to all ages.

Susan Schwake is a professional artist– exhibiting and selling their work for the past ten years in galleries around New England. She brings over 10 years of teaching fine arts to children and adults in the Seacoast area. Susan studied fine art/art education for four years at Plymouth State College and opened academyartworks in 1993.

She has have collaborated with many seacoast community organizations in residency programs; Central School in South Berwick, the Community Campus of Portsmouth, The Music Hall, Garrison Elementary School, Portsmouth Jr. High, The Children’s Museum of Portsmouth, The William Allen School, Rochester, Community Partners of Rochester, Sacred Heart School, Hampton and the Milton Mills Public Library.
